As I was finishing up breakfast this morning, Wyatt looked at me and asked, "Mom? Do you remember that exercise show you were watching the other day? Can I do that now?" I knew exactly what he was talking about. He and Noah had caught me trying to fight both flab and borderline insanity with a yoga DVD when they were supposed to be having quiet time while their younger siblings slept. (Mom? What are you doing, Mom? Is that yoga, Mom? Can we do it too, Mom? Why did your head just explode, Mom? Mom? MOM!) In a desperate attempt to get them to leave me alone so I could enjoy my yoga, I had promised him he could do it later. Now, he was ready to collect on that promise. No problem. It just so happens that the DVD has a twenty minute mini workout. Which means I spent the next twenty minutes laughing hysterically (on the inside--I didn't want to hurt their feelings) as I listened to, OW! What??? How do we do that? This is weird! and watched them repeatedly fall over. All the while, trippy elevator music of Sting songs played in the background.
By the end, Noah had given up, Caleb was hopping around the room in various pseudo-poses, and Eli was yelling "On your mark, set, GO! You can do it, Wyatt, you can do it!" Wyatt was the only one who made it all the way to the end (in his own pretzeled, falling-over way). He even did the five-minute meditation at the end. He talked through the whole thing.
*Sorry for the grainy video. I can't figure out how to keep YouTube from destroying the picture quality.

Oh katie that is so precious. We've recently taken up family group yoga in front of the computer screen with a yoga video. Also at 6:30 a.m. on pbs Addie always does yoga with some lady named Patricia or something. Hilarious. Nothing beats innocent little boys!

That is awesome that you guys do it together! I was surprised when Wyatt insisted on doing the hour-long lesson today. I was not surprised when they abandoned it long before it was over!
